Privacy
MoneyLab is built to need as little information as possible. There are no accounts, adverts or tracking.
Players
- To join a game you type a name. A first name or nickname is all that's needed, and we suggest that's all you use.
- The game keeps that name with your choices and scores so the host and the big screen can show them.
- Your phone remembers a random code so you can carry on if you refresh the page. It isn't linked to who you are.
Hosts
- Starting a game doesn't need an email or any personal details.
- If you choose to make an account, we keep your email address and, if you give it, the name of your group, school or organisation. We only use your email to send sign-in links and important messages about the service. We never share it or send marketing.
- You can delete your account, and all the games saved to it, from the My games page at any time.
- You get a host password. We only keep a scrambled fingerprint of it, so even we can't read it back; if you lose it, start a new game.
- Games you start are remembered on your own device, so you can find them again.
How long we keep it
- A game is deleted 30 days after anyone last used it, or after 3 days if it was never started. Games saved to an account are kept for 12 months after they were last used. That includes the names and scores in them.
- A host can delete their game straight away from the host page.
Practice quizzes
Practice quizzes run on your phone. Nothing about your answers is sent to us; your phone just remembers which questions you've had so the next go is different.
Questions
If you have a question about your data or want something deleted, email privacy@moneylab.org.uk.
Where it's stored
Games are stored on a server in Germany. Pages use fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees that a page was loaded, like on most websites. There are no cookies, analytics or adverts.
